(Luzerne) Map E 8 miles; moderate. 45 mins from Scranton

Park off Route 118 about 1 mile south of Kittle. Open gate across access road and single mailbox are your clues. Road on right.

Start up road and bear right at second right. Follow path, winding up through woods, then down to indentation between mountains. Hard to follow sometimes, but keep heading north until you reach old railroad grade. To the right is Splash Dam, now dry, and to the left is #2 Dam. Road back to left offers scenic views of mountains in Rickett's Glen State Park. Switchback over the steeper parts. The temptaion is to slide down instead, which I did, but it is environmentally unsound (the kid in me). Splash Dam was used to carry logs down stream to the railroad by releasing the water and logs all at once.
