(Lackawanna) Map H 6 miles; easy. 5 mins from Scranton
Park on River Street across from Ikeler's Bar near River Street Exit of Rt. 81.
Follow railroad south to large swampy pond on left about 2 miles down. Turn left up a small rocky slope just before pond. This leads straight to Ore Mine Road which goes past #5 Dam. Here you can pause in winter to watch skiers coming down the north face slopes at Montage. Continue up through the woods to Lake Scranton and turn left. Cross two bridges and proceed immediately up the rock face in front of you.( It looks more difficult than it is. )Trail starts on left side of wall after crossing stone bridge and winds up to power line. Follow this to Mountain Lake. Continue straight down roads and/or woods trails to Wintermantle Avenue. Turn right to East Mountain Road. Turn left to car.
