(Lackawanna) Map J 3 mile loop or 6 miles to Marshwood Road; easy. 10 mins from Scranton
Park near Holiday Inn off of Drinker Street in Dunmore, but not in their parking lot.
Trail goes up mountain behind Holiday Inn. Stay to right until third left. Orange tie on base of small tree on left. Go up 1 mile to large flat rock (end of it), turn right and proceed over top of mountain to wide path on left. This takes you to ledges overlooking Elmhurst. Come back to path and proceed to Tee. Turn left and go down a short distance to another vantage point with a fine view of Silver Lake.Come back and continue on path back down mountain. Lots of lowbush blueberries here in summer. Turkey, grouse, bear have all been spotted by author.
Or: Bypass trail to ledges at large flat rock and continue up through tunnel to Marshwood Road. Tunnel is very interest ing at end of winter when unusual ice formations can be seen. Bring flashlight; very slippery ground in tunnel.This route is 6 miles one way.
