(Luzerne) Map C 10 miles; rigorous, but not difficult. 30 mins from Scranton
Park at top of hill off of Route 309 south in Mountaintop. 3.9 miles from light at Exit 45 of Rt, 81.
Railroad starts on your right. Walk approximately 5 miles to end of railroad. Bushwack to left to power line, turning right until you see old railroad tunnel on right. Very impressive tunnel - cathedral-like. Explore as bravery dictates. Take flashlight. Backtrack to power line turning left and following it back to railroad bed, aproximately 5 miles. Very hilly here, but great views from the top of each summit.
(Luzerne) Map I 3 Miles; easy 25 minutes from Scranton
Take Interstate 81 south to Dupont. Turn right off ramp to light. Turn right. Five miles up Suscon Road toward Thornhurst from Dupont. Cross singing bridge. Park on left just past it.
Trail starts gradually up to top of mountain. Good view from top. Trail continues but does not loop so it's an out and back hike. Also good for cross-country skiing.
